====== Wharfedale ====== {{ :maps:wharfedale.jpg?direct&500|}} The River Wharfe is a river to the west of York. It's name is of Celtic origin, and means "twisting, winding". The valley of the river is known as //Wharfedale//. The Upper Wharfe flows down through Kettlewell, Grassington, Bolton Abbey and Addingham, and is different from the downstream river.
